Abstract

Ethics is regarded as a practical philosophy that discusses about how people act and how they should act. One of the greatest philosophers and scientists on Ancient European Age, Aristotle, said that ethics is the science of life. The more quality of human life, the more happiness they have. The purpose of this study is to examine the fundamental of virtue on corporate social responsibility. Analytical media used is the ethical thought of Aristotle on a good life is a happy life, the concept of this ethics is commonly known as Virtue Ethics. This study is a descriptive - qualitative research. Qualitative research is a research approach that uses data in the form of written or spoken words, behavior, phenomena, events or objects of study and knowledge . This approach focuses on understanding, thinking and perception researchers. This study examines the thinking of Aristotle's Ethics associated with the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a virtue in business activity. The results of the study showed that corporate social reponsibility (CSR) is a virtue (arête) in order to achieve happiness (eudaimonia) company. Happiness is the goal to be achieved by the company in carrying out its business activities. Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ) is a fundamental virtue in business activity that is defined with kindness, obedience, honesty, and integrity. Virtue (arête) manifested in CSR activities should be carried out as a form of responsibility to employees, products and services to consumers, society, and environment.
