Abstract
Academic procrastination is a tendency to procrastinate in accomplishing works/assignments. An academic procrastinator tends to do other useless activities so that the work which he/she must accomplish becomes hampered and delayed. An appropriate assistance from a counselor is given to the student-procrastinator by applying reality counseling model. Reality counseling is a design of a counseling service which is realistic thought-oriented or based on the client’s real condition. This study used Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design. The subject is students of guidance and counseling showing the symptoms of academic procrastination behavior. The instrument used is self-reflection sheet, and observation sheet. The data are analyzed by using visual graphic technique, and conversation analysis to analyze self-speech changes during intervention process. The result of the study showed (1) reality counseling is effective to decrease academic procrastination behavior of the students of guidance and counseling individually (2) the result of the conversation showed that the counselee’s statement/expression which at first indicates high academic procrastination turns to low academic procrastination.
