Abstract
The objective of this research is to improve students’ reading comprehension achievement in Reading Comprehension class through the implementation of Reciprocal Teaching Strategy. Creating a reciprocal teaching activity in Reading Comprehension course was really helpful in creating more indepth and meaningful learning. The students were enthusiastic to comprehend the texts because they worked in groups in making cooperation in summarizing and discussing the contents of the texts. Each member of the groups had the same chance to read, summarized, discussed, and asked questions. They became more active and showed more interest in the course. There had been an atmosphere of enjoyment and enthusiasm in the class. The result showed that the class was dynamic and alive, thus students’ motivation was increased. Furthermore, students’ achievement was also significantly improved. Key words: Reciprocal Teaching, CAR, Reading Comprehension
