Abstract

The purpose of this research is for raise the critical thinking skill on A class student of Kanjuruhan University of malang on the Economic Geography by PBL learning model. The research is designed by Classroom Action Research (PTK) Kemmis and Taggard’s model (Fatchan and Dasna, 2009). According to Fatchan (2009) “Kemmis and Taggard’s model used in most Classroom Action Research in Indonesia. This model consists of cycles that are connected which each cycle consist of : 1) action plan, 2) action, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. When the first cycle has not reach the target proceed to second cycle that are improvement plan, action, observation, and reflection. Next cycle always begin with improvement plan from the previous cycle. This research is held at Kanjuruhan University of Malang on A class 2011Geography Education FKIP which consist of 38 students. It consist of 19 male students and 19 female students. The instrument which are used in this research are: test observation sheet and finding field notes. The result of the research shows that on the first cycle the range value of critical thinking is 58,1 it is categorized fair or quite critical. On the second cycle the range value of critical thinking 75,3 it is categorized critic. Key Words: PBL learning model, critical thinking.
